Thanks for your support, Upper Moreland!

Last weekend, a very dedicated group showed up to rally in support of our LGBTQIA+ students in Upper Moreland. We continue to send a clear message that we are dedicated to protecting gender diversity, expression, and privacy since these aspects have been debated lately by our community and within our schools.

We'd like to remind everyone to continue showing support on the following dates during upcoming school board meetings. These are two very important opportunities to show up and support our major efforts. While signs aren't permitted, we strongly encourage supporters to wear clothing, pins, or other insignia that indicate your solidarity. Also, the board is allowing written public comment if submitted 24 hours in advance.

  • Tuesday, February 14th, 2023- 6:30pm: Policy Committee Meeting

  • Tuesday, February 21st, 2023- 6:30pm: Legislative Meeting

The board will review and vote on AR 253 Transgender and Gender Diverse Students, which aims to "reduce stigmatization and maximize transgender and gender diverse (TGD) students’ social integration in District programs, services, and activities" by respecting privacy and gender expression. Another important policy will be considered: AR 715 Display of Banners on School Building Flagpoles which will "establish procedures for submission of requests for banner displays for consideration by the Board." We know that visibility and representation matters. Let's make positive change together!
